No. There is no fee for this facility.
What are the features of Digital locker?
Digital locker has many useful features for online storage, digitally signing and online sharing of important e-documents. Digital locker has safety and security features for online documents similar to safe locker or folder locker for physical documents.
Is Aadhaar Card mandatory for Digital locker facility?
Yes. A person should possess a valid Aadhaar Card Number and their mobile number should be registered with the Aadhaar Card.
What if mobile number registered with Aadhaar is different from the current mobile number to avail the Digital locker facility?
You need to register the current mobile number with Aadhaar to avail the Digital locker facility.
What to do in case of any issue while sign-up process or accessing Digital locker facility?
In any of the below cases, you need to retry the above mentioned sign-up process again or refresh the Digital locker page
- Due to technical reasons, system is unable to communicate with official website for the Digital locker.
- OTP not received on the registered mobile number.
What are the allowed formats that can be stored in Digital locker?
Digital locker allows users to store the document in pdf, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp and gif format within the limit of 1 MB per document.
What is the storage space provided in Digital locker?
Digital locker provides 10MB free online storage to secure important documents and certificates in softcopy in different formats that can be easily shared through e-mail.
What is the sign-up process to avail Digital locker facility?
To avail the Digital locker facility, you need to sign-up through ICICI Bank Internet Banking. The following steps are to be followed for availing DIGILocker:
- Step1. Login to ICICI Bank Internet Banking.
- Step2. Click on "DIGITAL LOCKER" option available under EXCLUSIVE OFFERING menu tab.
- Step3. Click on the check boxes displayed and click "SUBMIT" button.
- Step4. Click on "I AGREE" button on the disclaimer page.
- Step5. Complete your Sign-up process on the official website for the Digital locker
Should Aadhaar Card be linked with the bank account for Digital locker?
Yes. In order to complete the sign-up process and avail the Digital Locker service through ICICI Bank, you first need to link your Aadhaar Card to your bank account.
What is Digital locker?
Digital locker or DIGILocker is the service launched by Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DEITY) under Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India to provide a secure dedicated personal electronic space for storing the documents of Indian citizens. The space on DIGILocker can be utilised for storing personal documents like Permanent Account Number (PAN) cards, Voter ID cards, university certificates etc. and the URIs of the e-documents issued by various issuer departments. On e-signing the documents, one does not have to present the physical documents. The authenticity of the documents is provided electronically. DIGILocker reduces government administrative overheads as the documents issued by the government can be directly placed in DIGILocker and citizens need not physically move to procure the documents.
