Terms and Conditions for online nomination

By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, the customer understands and confirms that:

  • The facility for submission of an online nomination (registration / cancellation) request (“the Facility”) is available for Savings / Fixed Deposit / iWish / Recurring Deposit accounts (hereinafter, “account/deposit”) opened with ICICI Bank Limited with single mode of operation. For accounts/deposits with more than one holder, the nomination can be submitted at any ICICI Bank Branch through the prescribed form.

  • Only individuals can be nominated as nominees. Non-individuals, including HUFs, partnership firms, bodies of individuals , corporates, trusts, societies, etc., cannot be nominees for an account/deposit.

  • This Facility is in addition to the existing service available through ICICI Bank Branches and is for customers’ convenience & ease and cannot be claimed as a right at any point of time. In case of non-availability of the Facility due to technical or any other reasons, the customer is requested to approach any ICICI Bank Branch for processing the nomination request.

  • Under section 45 ZA of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and Rule 2 of Banking Companies (Nomination) Rules, 2025, in respect of accounts/deposits, the nomination can be made to the credit of one or more nominees but not exceeding four nominees. Currently, the facility for nominating one nominee is available online. For nominating more than one and up to four nominees, the customer may submit the nomination by visiting any ICICI Bank Branch.

  • A confirmation regarding submission of the nomination application online for registering/cancelling/modifying a nominee will be displayed on the system. The customer should ensure that they obtain the acknowledgement of the nomination request.

  • In case the customer submits multiple online nomination requests, the last submitted request shall be final and will have overriding effect on existing nomination requests, if any.

  • In case the nominee is a minor, the name of a legal guardian of the minor has to be mandatorily submitted. Until the minor attains majority, the guardian will receive the amount on the minor’s behalf.

  • The right of the nominee to receive payment from ICICI Bank will arise only after the death of the depositor in a single account and death of all depositors in case of joint accounts.

  • A nomination will continue to be in force even on renewal of a term deposit, unless the nomination is specifically cancelled or changed.

  • The customer is at liberty to change the nominee at any time, in the manner and form as stipulated by ICICI Bank.
