    FD interest rates FAQs

Can I earn monthly interest on my Fixed Deposit?

Yes, ICICI Bank offers a monthly income option on Fixed Deposits, allowing you to receive monthly interest payouts. To calculate the monthly FD interest amount, you can use our FD Interest calculator. For detailed information, contact your relationship manager.

Is the interest on a Fixed Deposit taxable?

Yes, the interest earned on your ICICI Bank Fixed Deposit is taxable based on your income bracket and is subject to Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) as per Income Tax laws. You can also opt for a Tax Saver Fixed Deposit to save taxes up to ₹46,800 under the old tax regime.

How much interest can I earn on my Fixed Deposit?

ICICI Bank provides competitive Fixed Deposit interest rates ranging from a minimum of 2.75% to a maximum of 6.50% per annum. These secure and lucrative options make ICICI Bank a reliable choice for FD investments.

What are form 15G and form 15H?

Forms 15G and 15H can be submitted to avoid TDS deductions on interest income, provided you meet the eligibility criteria. Customers must have a PAN to claim tax exemptions and can submit these forms online via Net Banking or the ICICI Bank’s iMobile app.

When is TDS deducted on Fixed Deposit interest?

TDS is deducted when the interest income exceeds ₹50,000 for General Residents and ₹1,00,000 for Resident Senior Citizens. However, filing forms 15G or 15H can prevent TDS deductions if eligible, but the interest income remains taxable.

Will filing form 15G or 15H exempt me from tax on my interest income?

Submitting the forms only avoids TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) if your total income is below the taxable limit. If you do not submit the requisite form, the bank will deduct TDS which you will then have to claim as a refund later. If your taxable income is above the taxable limit, do not submit form 15G or 15H.

What is the interest rate for 10-year FD?

ICICI Bank offers Fixed Deposits for tenures ranging from 7 days to 10 years. The interest rate applicable for a 10-year FD depends on the deposit amount, whether the depositor is a general customer or a senior citizen and the prevailing rate at the time of booking.

ICICI Bank FD rates for 5 years 1 day to 10 years as of May 2026, are around 6.50% p.a. for general citizens and 7.00% p.a. for senior citizens (less than ₹3 crore deposits).

Rates are subject to change from time to time and may vary based on deposit category and amount, so it is advisable to check the latest FD interest rate chart for updated returns.

Can we open an FD for 1 year?

Yes. ICICI Bank allows you to open a Fixed Deposit for a tenure of 1 year (12 months). You can choose your preferred tenure ranging from 7 days to 10 years while booking your FD. You can choose the tenure based on your financial goals, and interest is paid as per your selected payout option such as monthly, quarterly or cumulative at maturity.

Which tenure gives more returns on FDs?

The returns on a Fixed Deposit depend on the interest rate applicable to the chosen tenure. Generally, medium to longer tenures (around 3 to 5 years) attract competitive rates (6.50%–7.10% p.a., as of May 2026), though the highest rate does not always correspond to the longest tenure.

It is advisable to check the current FD interest rates, compare rates across tenures and use the FD Calculator to identify the tenure that suits your financial goals.

Which FD gives a quarterly interest payout?

ICICI Bank's Regular Fixed Deposit offers the flexibility to choose your interest payout frequency. You can opt for quarterly interest payouts, which means the interest is credited to your account every three months. This option is available at the time of booking the FD. You can set this preference through ICICI Bank Net Banking or ICICI Bank's iMobile app when creating your FD.

How much interest will I earn on ₹1 lakh / ₹5 lakh / ₹10 lakh FD?

Interest earnings depend on tenure, rate slab and payout option. For example, at around 5%–6.75% p.a. (1–18 months slab), earnings vary propo6.2rtionately for ₹1 lakh to ₹10 lakh deposits. Use the ICICI Bank FD calculator for the estimate of the maturity value, as rates are dynamic.

Note: *Interest rates are subject to change. The calculated figures are indicative and based on the rate at the time of calculation.

    How much interest will I earn on ₹1 crore / ₹2 crore / ₹4 crore / ₹10 crore / ₹30 crore / ₹50 crore / ₹100 crore FD?

For bulk deposits, ICICI Bank applies separate high-value FD slabs (typically 3 crore+ categories) with rates around 6.5% p.a. for general and up to 7% p.a. for senior citizens (long tenure slabs). Exact returns vary significantly and should be calculated using the FD calculator.

Note: *Bulk deposit interest rates are subject to change. Please check the ICICI Bank website or consult your Relationship Manager for current rates.

    Can I deposit ₹2 crore / ₹4 crore / ₹10 crore / ₹100 crore in FD?

For deposits of ₹2 crore and above, bulk deposit interest rates apply, which may differ from standard retail FD rates. How much tax is applicable on FD interest?

The interest earned on a Fixed Deposit is taxable as per your income tax slab under the Income Tax Act, 2025. TDS is deducted when the aggregate FD interest in a financial year exceeds ₹50,000 (general customers) or ₹1,00,000 (senior citizens). The standard TDS rate is 10% where PAN is provided. If PAN and Aadhaar are not linked, TDS is deducted at 20%. The interest income must be declared in your Income Tax Return regardless of TDS.

Which Fixed Deposit (FD) scheme is best for senior citizens?

ICICI Bank offers an additional interest rate benefit for senior citizens (aged 60 years and above) over and above the applicable general customer FD rates. Senior citizens can choose from Regular Fixed Deposits with standard or monthly payout options and Tax Saver Fixed Deposits that offer tax deduction benefits under Section 123 of the Income Tax Act 2025 (earlier Section 80C) under the Old Tax regime.
