What is a Joint Account?

A Joint Account is an Account held by two or more individuals together to manage their finances, make joint investments, share expenses and more.

What are the privileges offered with the ICICI Bank Joint Account?

You can avail privileges like access to a Premium Card, Add-on Debit Card for the Joint Account holder*, Digital Banking for the Joint Account holder* and more.

*As per the Mode of Operation

Will I receive a Debit Card after opening a Joint Savings Account?

Yes, you and the Joint Account holder will both receive a Debit Card each after opening a Joint Savings Account.

*Debit Cards are issued to Primary and Secondary Account holders when the Mode of Operation is ‘Either or Survivor’ / ’Anyone or Survivor’. A Debit Card is issued only to the Primary Account holder in case the Mode of Operation is ‘Former or Survivor’.

Are digital banking services available for Joint Savings Accounts?

Yes, digital banking services (Internet Banking & iMobile) are available for Joint Savings Account basis the Mode of Operation.

Can a Joint Account be opened by more than 2 individuals together?

Yes, a Joint Account can be opened by more than 2 individuals.

How can I update the mobile number of the Joint Account holder in my ICICI Bank Joint Savings Account?

You can update the mobile number of the Joint Account holder through any ICICI Bank Branch.

The Joint Account holder can visit any Branch along with original photo ID proof. The mobile number will be updated in 2 working days after the request is placed. To locate the nearest ICICI Bank Branch, visit https://maps.icicibank.com/mobile

Note: We have discontinued mobile number registration / de-registration / modification through our Customer Care and Internet Banking due to security reasons.

How can I generate the Joint Account holder’s User ID for Internet Banking?

You will be able to generate a User ID for the Secondary holder in Joint Savings Account by following these steps:

● Visit the Get User ID page > Select ‘Joint account (Secondary Holder)’ 

● Enter values for ‘Joint Account Number’ & ‘Mobile Number of Secondary holder’

● If the Secondary holder in Joint Savings Account has existing digital banking access, the Account will be linked to existing login credentials

● If the Secondary holder in Joint Savings Account does not have any relationship with ICICI Bank, then a new login ID will be created and shared on the registered mobile number

Note: The above process for creating User ID for Secondary holder in Joint Savings Account is applicable only where Mode of Operation is ‘Either or Survivor’

Can Joint Account holders be added or removed later?

Yes, Joint Account holders can be added or removed with the mutual consent of the existing Account holders and with updated documentation.
